Homelab Update 24/02/2022
It’s that time of the year again, time to update my blog post about my current homelab!
Here’s a picture of the front, from top to bottom;
- ESXi1
- ESXi2
- ESXi3
From the rear;
- ESXi1
- ESXi2
- ESXi3
- EdgeSwitch 24 Lite
- EdgeRouter 10X
You’ll notice that the iLO port is ESXi1 isn’t plugged in on the picture, I plugged it in afterwards (forgot to do that before making the picture).
All the black network cables are LAN, the white cables are the public DC network.
The red power cables are Phase A, the black power cables are Phase B (which are on their own circuits, UPSes, etc).
Here are the specs of the servers:
ESXi1:
- 2x Intel Xeon E5-2660 v2 @ 2.2 GHz (10 cores 20 threads each)
- 352GB of memory
- 4x 1 gigabit RJ45 ports
ESXi2:
- 2x Intel Xeon E5-2660 v2 @ 2.2 GHz (10 cores 20 threads each)
- 192GB of memory
- 4x 1 gigabit RJ45 ports
ESXi3:
- 2x Intel Xeon E5-2660 v2 @ 2.2 GHz (10 cores 20 threads each)
- 352GB of memory
- 4x 1 gigabit RJ45 ports
All servers have a mix of drives. Anywhere from NVMe SSDs, SATA SSDs, SATA HDDs and some SAS HDDs.
All links are all 1 gigabit. I want to upgrade my LAN to 10 gigabit at some point to get rid of some network bottlenecks that I am hitting, but this is a future project once I can afford it financially.
