My Professional Certification/Training Goals for 202X
While everyone is going to make their “new year’s resolutions” I had been thinking of.. What would I like to do in 2023, in an ideal world? (where money isn’t an issue, that is).
In terms of professional development there are a couple of trainings and certifications I would like to go for. Not only to brush up on some of my knowledge and to learn more, but also because, well, certs. (I hope some of you may get that joke.)
One main goal I have for 2023 is the VMware Certified Professional – Network Virtualization 2022 certification. I personally believe that virtual networking is getting even more and more important nowadays, so it would be a good cert to have, or at least the knowledge, which I should have.
Other goals for twenty-twenty-something would be:
- The VMware Certified Advanced Professional – Data Center Virtualization badge, which depends on the VMware Certified Advanced Professional – Data Center Virtualization Design 2022 and VMware Certified Advanced Professional Data Center Virtualization – Deploy 2022 certificates. I have been looking forward to try to get this at some point in my life. Reasons being is that I think it would be a great challenge and a good thing to have on your résumé. This (assuming things work first try) would cost about $900 total. ($450 per attempt per certificate).
- The VMware Certified Master Specialist – VMware Cloud on AWS 2022 badge. It costs $2720 for the required on-demand course and $250 for the exam. That $250 I have, that $2720 I don’t unfortunately. So that really is a 202X goal. This would be amazing to get, especially with how my blog started to grow when I did the VMware Cloud on AWS content.
There’s that goal dump done, now to actually try to make it work. I know for sure that I am going to go for that VCP-NV certification. But the other two.. well only time (and my wallet) will tell. As I do have other things planned next year that are going to cost a lot of money, and sadly you can only spent it once.
